How to Make the Viral Zombie Couple Video with Your Own Photos
By the Zombie AI Video Generator team · Updated / 4 min read
The zombie couple video combines a frightening present-day encounter with warm memories of a relationship. To make your own version, you need suitable reference photos, an image-to-video tool, and a way to join the scenes with music. A dedicated generator can combine those steps; a manual workflow gives you more control over each shot.
Is this the zombie girlfriend video you saw?
One recognizable version shows someone facing their zombie partner, sometimes holding a gun, before cutting to romantic flashbacks. The emotional change between the confrontation and the memories is what makes it a love story rather than a simple zombie filter.
You may have seen it on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, or Facebook Reels. The platform alone does not identify the app that made it. Compare the plot, transitions, and framing with the sample on our tool page before choosing a workflow.
Our sample is a style reference. It is not evidence that uploaded faces have been reproduced in a personalized result.
Step 1: Plan the two parts of the story
Write down what happens in the opening and what the memory scene should show. For example: an uneasy encounter with a zombie partner, followed by a memory of the couple together. Decide which person appears in each shot and where the transition belongs.
In this generator, the first photo defines the survivor and the second defines the zombie partner. Both are submitted together as character references for one 15-second film.
Step 2: Prepare the reference photos
Choose clear photos with visible faces, even lighting, and enough space around the subject. Avoid screenshots with interface elements or faces hidden by sunglasses. Our photo picker accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP files up to 10 MB each, with both dimensions at least 300 pixels and a width-to-height ratio between 0.4 and 2.5.
Two individual portraits supply character references for the entire film; face consistency still requires review. Read the photo preparation guide for the difference between scene inputs and character references.
Step 3: Check the generator status
Open the zombie video generator. If the button says Preview zombie demo, it plays a supplied example. Choosing photos in demo mode does not create a personalized video and does not spend generation credits. Those selected photos remain on your device.
When custom generation is enabled, choose a portrait of the survivor followed by a portrait of the zombie partner, check their order, select the available quality, and review the credit cost shown beside the button. Sign in when prompted and start generation. You do not enter a prompt in this interface; the scene instructions are preset.
Step 4: Review the finished story
For a generated result, inspect each face, the scene order, and the transition. Look for distorted eyes or hands, changes in clothing, and unintended extra people. Check that the memory sequence matches the story you intended. A cinematic sample does not guarantee the same quality for every input.
If a result fails your review, change the input or scene instructions in a workflow that supports those adjustments. Do not assume that repeatedly submitting the same photos will fix every problem.
Step 5: Download and prepare for sharing
The current workflow requests one 15-second MP4 in your selected 16:9 or 9:16 format using both portraits and a preset 15-shot script. The model generates an original instrumental score. Actual shot timing may vary. Download becomes available after a personalized job completes; the demo preview is not your generated video.
For a vertical post, check a 9:16 crop in your editor. Make sure both faces and important actions remain visible. If cropping cuts out the story, preserve the full landscape frame inside a vertical canvas instead. Use audio you have permission to publish.
Do I need the original template?
No. You can recreate the basic story structure with a different generation workflow. Exact camera moves, faces, and timing may differ. If your template link is unavailable, see how to make a zombie couple video without CapCut.
Can I recreate an attached reference video exactly?
This tool accepts photos, not a reference-video upload. Use the sample to judge the intended style. Exact recreation of another clip, automatic face replacement, and consistent identity across all shots are not guaranteed.
